The Senior Firewall Specialist will be responsible for management and support of network security solutions to strengthen operational technology (OT) systems for an oil & gas company.
What are the responsibilities?
As a Senior Firewall Specialist, you will:
- Design and implement security policies, Palo Alto firewalls, and VPNs.
- Implement security measures into OT systems.
- Remain up-to-date on cybersecurity best practices and industry trends.
- Deliver security protocol and best practice training to staff members.
- Provide support to internal customers for network systems.
- Identify improvement areas and execute security policies.
What are the requirements?
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or related
- 6+ years experience supporting Palo Alto firewalls
- Experience in network security engineering
- Familiar with oil & gas industry protocols, technology systems, & best practices (PLCs, SCADA, etc.) (NIST800-82SP2, Purdue Model OT/ICS, etc.)
- Certifications such as CISSP or Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) are preferred
- Able to think critically and solve problems independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
