What is this position?
The Sr. Commercial Lender originates commercial and small business loans with the overall objective of maintaining and increasing the loan volume. You will also develop new and existing business relationships including deposit accounts.

What will you do?
As a Sr. Commercial Lender, you will: 

  • Participate in developing lending and deposit business. Calls on current and potential customers to expand existing business relationships; calls on prospects seeking opportunities to expand the company's customer base.

  • Surpass loan objectives, advancing the development of commercial loan portfolios. 

  • Assist in the ongoing portfolio management of current loans including identification and documentation of problem loans, policy exceptions, grade changes, annual reviews, watch list reviews, and/or special reviews that may be required.

  • Actively engage in initiatives with contacts in the community, including customers and prospective customers to achieve defined goals.

  • Obtain necessary documents to fully underwrite and document credit requests. Work with third-party vendors for processing and approval of all loans.

  • Gather any outstanding loan documents and closes loans.

  • Perform annual reviews and risk rating analyses.

  • Monitor the success of past and current marketing activities, and provide recommendations for how to best position the organization.

  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and loan policies.

  • Write routine reports and correspondence, monitoring exceptions and collateral. 

What are the requirements?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or related field or a combination of education and experience

  • 8+ years of commercial lending or credit analysis experience

  • Strong background in lending policies and procedures, including real estate and commercial underwriting practices

  • Able to work independently and exercise good judgment.

  • Excellent one-on-one and group interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to learn and apply new information or skills.

  • Ability to observe and interpret people and situations.

  • Ability to perform highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks by deadlines.
