What is the position?

The Accounting Analyst will be responsible for providing expertise and guidance in preparing and/or reviewing financial information, primarily for external reporting.  The position works independently with guidance in only the more complex assignments requiring the use of experience, innovation and judgment. 

What do you need to be able to do?

  • Accumulates and prepares information necessary to complete SEC filings, financial statements and related disclosures.
  • Reviews and analyzes consolidated financial statements and related disclosures.  This includes facilitating, consolidating and/or adjusting entries or other changes to ensure financial statements and disclosures are complete, correct and in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), SEC regulations, and other applicable requirements.
  • Prepares or review financial data for proper XBRL tagging
  • Identifies and recommends resolutions to issues which impact the accuracy and completeness of accounting data and financial statements within a general area of responsibility.
  • Prepares or reviews various schedules, reports and analyses for filing with government agencies.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with individuals and/or other departments as needed to resolve accounting and reporting issues and questions.
  • Assists in the coordination of audit requirements with external auditors
  • Communicates and consults with internal and external counterparties.

What are the requirements?

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related degree with strong accounting focus
  • 6+ years of accounting experience
  • Some travel required
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing quarterly and annual SEC reports and other SEC filings
  • Financial accounting experience which would include consolidations
  • Ability to work with large amounts of detailed data and translate data into meaningful information
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to transfer learning, knowledge & skills across multiple projects
  • Self-starter with proven ability to establish and meet goals and objectives
  • Ability to thrive under pressure of deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required in order to effectively interact and clearly communicate with individuals at all levels in the organization
  • Possess strong technology skills, including use of spreadsheets, consolidation software and XBRL tagging.
  • Ability to adapt to cyclical workload, including extended work hours during peak reporting months
