Job Description

What is the position?
The CNC Machinist maintains, controls, and operates machines and equipment that are used in the manufacturing of smaller production equipment and other utility products. The position requires a commitment to quality, safety and communication. This role must rely upon experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required, and you will work under general supervision, reporting to a supervisor/manager.


What are the responsibilities?
As a CNC Machinist, you will:

  • Set up production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Carry out production, inspection, packaging and machine operation duties.
  • Carry out routine maintenance on machines.
  • Adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and diagrams to select, position, and secure machinery.
  • Ensure all materials are readily available.
  • Effectively monitor production equipment.
  • Assist materials handlers as necessary.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work space.
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


What are the requirements?

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within this field
  • Setup 3-8 axis CNC lathe
  • Some programming experience
  • 5-10 years of experience in the field or in a related area; 10 years preferred
