Job Description

What is the position?
The Principal Accountant will perform financial analysis, account reconciliations, and ensure compliance with GAAP standards. This role also supports audit preparations, works closely with internal teams, and contributes to international financial operations.

What are the responsibilities?
As a Principal Accountant, you will:

  • Complete month-end close tasks, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis
  • Ensure documentation accuracy for all transactions, complying with accounting standards
  • Address and resolve discrepancies, coordinating with teams as needed
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to queries
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
  • Identify and implement process improvements in accounting functions

What are the requirements?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA or CPA track preferred
  • 6+ years of accounting experience
  • Knowledge of GAAP, multinational accounting, and general ledger operations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP systems like Oracle
  • Experience with SOX controls, publicly traded companies, and excellent communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in public accounting, Spanish proficiency, familiarity with Alteryx, Blackline, or Microsoft Power Suite preferred
  • Oil/gas industry experience preferred
